It didn't take long to find a buyer willing to shell out $39.5 million, or 32.5 million euros at today's exchange rate, to finalise the purchase of Hollywood star Tom Cruise's Telluride estate in Colorado. This was reported by Sotheby's International Realty, which handled the sale of the property, which has been on the market for only two months and was the subject of negotiations since the first week. The estate, built at the actor's behest in 1994 in pure mountain style in stone and cedar wood, covers 320 acres or 130 hectares and includes the 3,000 square metre main house, the 450 square metre guest house with three guest bedrooms, a sports court that can be used for tennis, basketball and ice hockey, private access to the Uncompahgre National Forest and miles of private hiking trails to be enjoyed on horseback, dirt bike or snowmobile.
