The houses designed by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright are real works of art, fascinating observers with their unchanged splendor. Ennis House, considered among Wright's most famous and singular projects, was built in 1924. It underwent major renovations in recent years. The 500 square meter villa is built with 27,000 interlocking concrete blocks; their decorative elements and ornamental reliefs refers to the Mayan culture. It is located in Los Feliz, not far from Hollywood, It appeared on the big screen as a set for some scenes in the famous film "Blade Runner." In 1971, it was recorded in the United States registry of historical places. An earthquake in 1994 and two floods in 2004 and 2005 had severely damaged the property. The owner was forced to sell the house in 2011 to entrepreneur Ronald Burke at a very low price, 4.5 million dollars. Burke himself invested about $17 million in the total renovation of the property. Returning to the market at $23 million, the villa was sold for $18 million.
