Archistar Zaha Hadid never ceases to amaze. The background for her new, futuristic building is the luxurious district of Dubai that hosts the famous Burj Khalifa. The peculiarity of the design, presented for the first time in 2007, is the irregular eight-story “opening” at the center of the building which, although at first glance may seem to be composed of a single structure, is actually formed by two 100-meter tall towers with windows. They are connected to each other by an atrium four floors above ground level. This 38 meter long section is complemented by an asymmetric bridge and suspended at 71 meters in height. Opus will be open to the public in 2020 and will house a luxury 100-room hotel of ME group by Melia, 12 restaurants, a rooftop bar, a pool, an exclusive gym, a lounge bar, a nightclub and offices.
