The Hollywood Hills, the twinkling lights of Los Angeles and the blue of the Pacific Ocean form the backdrop for this minimalist-style residence designed by Standard Architecture and built by Viewpoint Collection. Its forms, inspired by Louis Kahn's Kimbell Museum of Art in Fort Worth, Texas, reflect the traditional geometry of barns with a modern twist, evoking life in the American countryside. Forest Knoll Residence looks like a sophisticated, luxurious farmhouse, built with simple materials such as wood, cement and rough stone which define the structure with three parallel volumes with sloping roofs, imposing glass walls and very high ceilings. Each of these volumes contains different living spaces opening onto an outdoor patio overlooking the surroundings, reinforcing the connection between the building and the landscape. Inside, the house has 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, an infinity pool, a gym and a cinema room. The interiors are the result of a collaboration between Minotti Los Angeles and MASS Beverly.
